Chaptered (chapteredfilms.com) turns a wedding film into a page. A couple, or someone making the page for them, marks the moments in the film and tags who's in each one, and every guest gets a link that opens on their parts. This page says what we keep, why, and how to get it removed.
What we keep
- Film pages. The couple's names, the wedding date, who filmed it, the YouTube video it plays, the marked moments and chapters, and the names of tagged guests. The person who makes a page types all of this in.
- The edit key. Whoever makes a page gets a private edit link. We keep only a scrambled copy (a hash) of its key, never the key itself.
- Open counts. We count how many times a page and each guest link are opened, so the couple can see if guests came back. To tell a repeat open from a new one, we keep a scrambled copy of the visitor's IP address and browser for 14 days, then delete it. We don't set cookies and we don't store anything in your browser to do this.
- Messages you send us. If you use the beta form or Report or remove me, we keep what you write and the email address you give us, if any.
- Server logs. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, time, page) for a short time to run and protect the site.
When the editor is open, it saves your unsaved draft and edit key in your own browser so you don't lose your work. That copy stays on your device.
What we use it for
We use this information only to show film pages, let their makers edit them, count opens for the couple, answer messages, and keep the site safe. We don't sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising. Film and guest pages are hidden from search engines.
YouTube
Film pages play videos with the YouTube player, which is one of the YouTube API Services. When a film plays, YouTube and Google receive information from your browser under their own rules. By watching a film on Chaptered you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of that information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. We load the player from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
Chaptered doesn't ask you to sign in to Google or YouTube and doesn't read anything from your Google account. If you ever connect a Google account to a service and want to remove its access, you can do that on the Google security settings page.
Who else sees it
- Anyone with a page's link can see that page, including guest names and moments. Guest links carry a random part so they can't be guessed from a name.
- Netlify hosts the site and stores pages and counts. Google and YouTube receive what their player collects.
- We'll share information if the law requires it.
Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we don't count your opens at all. We don't track you across other websites either way.
Getting removed or changing something
If you're on a page and want your name off it, a tag fixed, or the page reported, use Report or remove me. It's at the bottom of every page and needs no account. We handle every request within 24 hours. You can also email tenzin@tenworksweb.com to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted.
California residents can ask what personal information we have about them and ask us to delete it, the same way. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.
How long we keep it
Film pages stay up until their maker or the couple asks us to take them down. Visitor hashes for open counts are deleted after 14 days. Messages are kept as long as we need them to deal with the request.
Children
Chaptered is for adults making pages about their weddings. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a child's name is on a page and a parent wants it off, use Report or remove me.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. Questions go to tenzin@tenworksweb.com.
